RedHead Sling

Adjustable lenght & Thumb hole

Fitted onto Tenpoint Stealth-X2

Thick Neoprene padding

The Talon quick swivel

How do you carry your crossbow?

I usually had one of those very basic Nylon slings, functional but left a lot to be deserved on the comfort side. During a recent trip at BassPro I saw a RedHead SuperSling padded sling and decided it was time for an upgrade.

As you probably know RedHead is BassPro’s own brand. In this case the sling it is actually made by Outdoor Connection Inc. and re-branded for RedHead.

The sling is made of 1” wide heavy gauge nylon webbing (1000 denier) it features two Talon quick release swivels and a padded section composed of four layers. The padding is made by heavy premium leather, two layers of closed cell neoprene rubber and a non slip layer made of suede leather. There is also a nylon thumb loop to help you balance the load on the shoulder.

The sling length can be adjusted from approx 28” to 40” and that should accommodate most of the crossbows on the market as well as body sizes, an added plus is that it can be adjusted with one hand.

Until I switched to this new sling I was not aware what I was missing, I have to admit. It is really comfortable on the shoulder and the suede leather helps keeping the load firm and stable. I also appreciated the swivels, though they may seem a secondary detail the very precisely dimensioned Talon Swivels lock the sling in place without any shaking (no shake=no noise!).

The sling is available from RedHead in Black and in tree different camo patterns: Advantage Timber, Mossy Oak Break-Up and Mossy Oak Shadow Grass. At time of writing the Redhead SuperSling retails for about $22.99 plus taxes.
