Crosman
Crosman is probably better known for its airgun
products. Last year thanks to Scott Alread ( coming
from Bear) Crosman developed two new crossbows.
These crossbows named Teton and Bristol were
launched at the Shot Show , the IWA was really a
nice chance to get a “hands on”. Crosman had the two
crossbows on the show floor but both appeared a s
pre-production mock ups.
Some parts were from the real product (riser,
bow) but some were made rapid prototyping resin
compounds , unfortunately the trigger assembly one
of the most interesting item to get a feeling of the
quality of a new crossbow, was made of the latter.
Anyway the new crossbows appear solid and the
balance is quite good , the stocks is quite long ,
compared to other crossbows, but the general feeling
is ok. The bows can be equipped with a scope or dot
from a family company (Center Point) . We hope to be
able to see a finished product soon.
Horton
Horton was in its first year at the IWA Show,
this also was the first time they introduced their
vertical bows archery line to Europe. In fact at
their stand the vertical bows was in good display.
Also in good display there was the Horton reCon an
unconventional crossbow (design licensed from
Armcross) . The reCon sports the same features as
the LeoPro but with a more “tactical” touch : the
crossbow is in fact heavily accessorized from the
MagPul industries catalog ( adjustable stock, Front
grip, weaver rails etc) and finished in green-black.
